Ultimate Tomahawk Steak

    Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking.

    Preheat the grill to medium-high, 400 to 450 degrees F (200 to 230 degrees C). Season the steak evenly and generously on all sides with salt and black pepper.

    Lightly oil the grill grates or use grilling spray. Place the steak on the hot grates and grill without moving it until it releases easily, about 4 minutes. Flip and do the same on the other side. Continue grilling, turning now and then, until a thermometer in the thickest part reads 125 degrees F (52 degrees C), 30 to 40 minutes.

    Move the steak to a cutting board and rest it for 15 minutes. Run a knife along the inside edge of the bone to remove the steak in one piece, then slice against the grain to serve.
