Crispy Air-Fryer Rotisserie-Style Chicken

Crispy Air-Fryer Rotisserie-Style Chicken features crackling, well-seasoned skin and tender, juicy meat throughout. Paprika, thyme, garlic, and a touch of cayenne create a balanced warmth that complements the natural richness of the bird. It’s an ideal centerpiece for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings when you want big rotisserie flavor without the spit.

  1. 1

Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) following the manufacturer's directions.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, combine salt, paprika, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, black pepper, cayenne, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

Rub 1 1/2 tablespoons oil over the chicken, then apply 1/2 of the spice mixture.

  4. 4

Cook in the preheated air fryer for 30 minutes. Carefully take the chicken out of the fryer. Flip the chicken; rub with the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons oil and sprinkle with the remaining spice mixture.

  5. 5

Place the chicken back in the air fryer and continue cooking until the bone is no longer pink and the juices run clear, about 30 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh, near the bone, should register 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

  6. 6

Remove the chicken from the air fryer, cover it with a doubled sheet of aluminum foil, and let it rest in a warm spot for 10 minutes before carving.
