Kim’s Roast Prime Rib

Kim’s Roast Prime Rib features a deep, umami-rich backbone from soy and Worcestershire, balanced by gentle garlic and onion notes. A browning sauce helps build a robust crust while keeping the interior wonderfully tender and juicy—ideal for a special dinner or holiday centerpiece when you want impressive flavor in every slice.

Kim’s Roast Prime Rib
  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).

  2. 2

In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion salt, browning sauce, and water. Set the roast in a roasting pan with the ribs side down, and use a knife to poke deep holes in the roast. Pour the marinade over the roast. With a baster, squirt the marinade into the holes you made and over the entire roast several times.

  3. 3

Bake for about 1 hour. (Note: For a smaller roast, bake for 40 to 45 minutes so it does not dry out.)

  4. 4

Take the roast out of the oven and lower the oven temperature to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C).

  5. 5

Once the oven reaches 200 degrees F (95 degrees C), put the roast back in and continue cooking for 18 to 22 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature is 145 degrees F (65 degrees C).
