Sweet and Kickin' Mango-Habanero Hot Sauce

This bold mango-habanero hot sauce balances fruity sweetness with a fierce, lingering heat. Ripe mango and a touch of peach round out the habaneros, while mustard, spices, and vinegar give it tang and depth. Spoon it over grilled meats, tacos, or seafood when you want a bright, spicy kick.

  1. 1

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion; cook and stir until it turns translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Combine the onion, mangoes, peach, honey, habanero peppers, and mustard in a food processor. Process until smooth; then mix in the salt, paprika, white pepper, cumin, and allspice. Add the brown sugar; continue processing until everything is well combined.

  3. 3

Pour the mango-habanero mixture into a large saucepan. Bring it to a boil. Add the white vinegar and apple cider vinegar, stirring frequently until thoroughly combined. Boil until thickened, 10 to 12 minutes. Pour the sauce into jars or containers.
