Oven-Baked Falafel Patties
Oven-Baked Falafel Patties deliver a crisp exterior with a tender, herb-laced center, highlighting cumin, coriander, and fresh parsley. They’re lighter than deep-fried versions yet still richly seasoned, perfect tucked into pitas with tahini or served over salads. Ideal for a weeknight Dinner or a make-ahead Lunch spread with pickles and fresh vegetables.

- 1
Wrap the onion in cheesecloth and squeeze out as much liquid as you can; set aside. Put the garbanzo beans, parsley, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and baking soda into a food processor and process until coarsely pureed. Combine the garbanzo bean mixture with the onion in a bowl, then stir in the flour and the egg. Form the mixture into four large patties and let them stand for 15 minutes.
- 2
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- 3
Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
- 4
Move the skillet to the preheated oven and bake until heated through, about 10 minutes.
