Beef Tenderloin with Creamy Dijon Sauce

Juicy beef tenderloin is paired with a silky, tangy Dijon cream that adds a gentle heat and richness without overpowering the meat. The contrast of tender roast and cool, peppery sauce makes it ideal for holidays or a special dinner party. Beef Tenderloin with Creamy Dijon Sauce shines when sliced thin and topped with a generous spoonful of the chilled sauce.

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Line a rimmed 10x15-inch baking sheet with foil.

  2. 2

Set the beef tenderloin on the prepared baking sheet. Rub it with butter, then drizzle with 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper. Tuck the tapered end of the tenderloin underneath so it cooks evenly.

  3. 3

Roast the tenderloin in the preheated oven until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 135 degrees F (57 degrees C) for medium-rare, 25 to 30 minutes.

  4. 4

Move the tenderloin to a cutting board and loosely tent it with foil; let it rest for 10 minutes. (After resting, the thermometer should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).)

  5. 5

For the sauce, stir together the mayonnaise, mustard, hot sauce, and the remaining 2 teaspoons Worcestershire in a small bowl. Slice the tenderloin. Serve with the sauce and garnish with parsley.
