Cola-Braised Pot Roast II
  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. 2

Set the meat in a roasting pan. Scatter the carrots, celery, and minced garlic around the roast.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, stir together the brown gravy mix and water until smooth. Add the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and cola-flavored carbonated beverage, then pour the mixture over the roast.

  4. 4

Cover the pan and cook for 1 hour in the preheated oven.

  5. 5

Lower the oven temperature to 225 degrees F (110 degrees C), and continue cooking for 2 hours. Remove from the oven and flip the roast so the top is coated with the gravy. Cover the pan and return it to the oven for at least 2 hours.

  6. 6

Take it out of the oven and let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
