Char-Grilled Turkey Drumsticks

Char-Grilled Turkey Drumsticks balance a gentle sweetness with a peppery kick, thanks to a citrusy soak and a sticky honey finish. The meat stays juicy while the grill adds smoky edges and a crisp, caramelized crust, perfect for backyard cookouts, tailgates, or casual summer dinners.

  1. 1

Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat, and lightly oil the grate.

  2. 2

In a large pot, combine the lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage, sugar, hot sauce, red pepper, pepper, and onion. Add the turkey legs to the mixture and bring it to a boil. Cook for 30 to 45 minutes, until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 180 degrees F (80 degrees C).

  3. 3

Remove the onion slices from the mixture and place them on the prepared grill. Set the turkey legs on top of the onions. Drizzle with honey and season with steak seasoning. Cook, turning once, for 20 minutes, or until a crisp, browned crust forms on the turkey legs.
