Hazel's Cranberry Sauce

Hazel's Cranberry Sauce is a ruby-red, spice-forward condiment where tart cranberries mingle with apple cider, white and brown sugars, and warm allspice, clove, and nutmeg. It sets up with a glossy, jammy texture that balances tangy and sweet, perfect alongside roast turkey, spread on sandwiches, or spooned over toast during the holidays and beyond.

Hazel's Cranberry Sauce
  1. 1

In a saucepan, combine the apple cider, white sugar, brown sugar, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, and cranberries. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, until most of the cranberries have burst. Keep cooking until the mixture is thick.

  2. 2

Ladle into sterile jars, leaving 1/2 inch of headspace, and seal with lids and rings.

  3. 3

Process the jars in a gently simmering water bath for 10 to 15 minutes to seal, or transfer to containers, let cool, and refrigerate. It will keep for at least a week.
