Position an oven rack about 6 inches below the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler.

Rub the salmon with olive oil. Cut the lemon in half and set 1 half aside. Slice the other half into 1/4-inch-thick rounds. Arrange the slices on a broiler pan and place the salmon on top so the salmon is not touching the pan; use just enough slices to cover the bottom of the salmon. Sprinkle with dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Lightly squeeze the remaining half of the lemon over the entire salmon so the seasoning does not wash off.

Cook on a low broil in the center of the preheated oven until the salmon flakes easily with a fork but is still juicy, 15 to 20 minutes.
